ABOUT PAOLO SCARDINA

Paolo Scardina is a storyteller who uses music as his medium. He has an uncanny ability to connect with his audience and make them feel the emotions of the songs he sings. Through his music, he can evoke a wide range of emotions, from joy to sadness to anger. But his real genius is in his ability to make the audience feel the meaning of every word he sings, and every move he makes. He has a way of capturing the essence of the human condition in his songs, and his performances are always compelling.

Paolo also loves the art of composing for film and TV because he deeply believes that sound design and music composition are so important to a film or TV production's success. He loves to collaborate with creative individuals to bring projects to life. He delights in working with film makers, film directors, musicians, actors, choreographers, and dancers. Paolo's passion for his work is evident in the results he produces.

Paolo's interest in music began in the basement of his house in Ohio when he was very young. His mother, who loved music, arranged for him to take piano lessons from her sister, who was an accomplished pianist. Paolo took to the piano like a fish to water, and he stuck with his piano studies all through high school, college, and graduate school where he also discovered a love for dance.

Paolo took a break from music to explore modern dance. He moved to San Francisco and performed with the Sheila Corregos Dance Company. After that, he founded the Paul Scardina Dance Company, which has toured the Bay Area and produced concerts at the Palace of Fine Arts and the Margaret Jenkins Dance Facility. Scardina's choreography is known for its lyrical, narrative style.

With music and dance in the background, Paolo also built a succesful career in residential architecture in Portland Oregon.  Paolo moved his practice to Sedona, Arizona, where he continues to design contemporar sustianable homes. Paolo's designs are much like his music and dance, filled with line, rhythm, texture, harmony, and natural elements. They reflect his love of nature and his desire to create spaces that are both beautiful and functional.

Paolo has performed with many opera and ballet companies in the United States. He has also been a featured soloist with the San Francisco Symphony, the San Francisco Opera Chorus and Ballet, the San Francisco Men’s Chorus, the Portland Opera, the Portland Gay Men’s Chorus, the Sedona Superstars, the Sedona Performing Arts Alliance, and the Sedona Creative Arts Center. In addition to his classical music performances, Paolo has also been a regular musician at many Sedona venues, including Steakhouse 89, Sound Bites Grill, Vino Di Sedona, Mesa Grill, Reds, Hillside Sedona Center, and Ken’s Creekside.
